Throughout my first year of University as a photography student, I did not realise the extent that goes into the research behind it all, especially when it comes to photographers and their bodies of work. It was always the key that you do your research as a photography student and this is because of the history behind it as well as finding inspiration for your projects and essay assignments. I have learned that doing research always inspires your photoshoots and your written work, especially if your working in a particular area of photography or just want inspiration from that particular area. I could not highly recommend this book enough to students starting off in photography, it has all the history you need as well as countless of photographers from over the years. If you love a good read as well as research, then this book is perfect for that and even-though it is a big book it contains everything you need to broaden your knowledge on photography if it has not been broadened already.
